The Problem

MIFF Marketing is providing green cleaning services using a product based on pure and high quality clay. The product is anti-septic without any chemical content. Lab tests show that the product can eliminate powerful bacteria found in major impurities up to 99.9%. The product has made significant inroads into several industries such as oil & gas, shipping, airlines, logistics, facility management, automotive and food & beverages. The amount of the product to be used depends on the amount of impurities, size and area of the space to be cleansed. Suitable amount of water is also required in the process.

The aim of this project is to develop mathematical models that inform industries and scientists on how to best utilize this product in the right proportion that could save cost and effort for effective cleansing of impurities. Identification of key control and optimisation parameters in the framework of known constraints is a key objective of this project.

The solution

UTM-CIAM helped MIFF to develop a new mathematical approach to optimize the amount of the product to be used depends on the amount of impurities, water, size, and area of the space to be cleansed.
